John D. Neal
JOHN D. NEAL was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up in Kankakee, Illinois and Baltimore, Maryland. He received a B.A. in 1969 from Boston College and an M.A. in English Literature as well as his law degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. John was a Worker’s Compensation Administrative Law Judge for the State of Wisconsin from 1973 to 1980. Since then, he has worked for his current law firm. John taught a course in Worker’s Compensation Law at the University of Wisconsin Law School (2008 to 2015). He was the original author, and now is co-author of the State Bar of Wisconsin publication Worker’s Compensation Law, a handbook used by lawyers in the field. He was accepted as a Fellow in the National College of Worker’s Compensation Attorneys in 2010 and talks to groups of lawyers and others on the topic of worker’s compensation law from time to time. He has been a consultant to the Labor members of the Worker’s Compensation Advisory Council. His spare time is devoted to his wife Bonnie, his grandchildren, golf, carpentry, and tennis.
